Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Richmond Fellowship of Western Australia provides Independent Living Skills services to people with mental illness who are living in independent living arrangements.
This program provides encouragement and support for individuals, so they can participate actively in day to day living in the community. It also aims to assist people in taking ownership and responsibility for all aspects of their lives.
The target group is adults over 18 year with a severe and persistent mental health diagnosis who require varying types, levels and duration of support to maintain tenure in their living environments and to achieve good quality of life.
People who fall within the target group can be referred to this service from Health Services, General Practitioners, private psychiatrists and other health professionals. They must have ongoing clinical support guaranteed by a public health service, a private psychiatrist or a General Practitioner.
Services will be provided to people in the target group who reside in independent accommodation in the North (East Health Service Area) and South Metropolitan Mental Health Service Regions.
