Programs Overview

Carer Respite

If you are a Carer of someone living with a serious mental health difficulty we offer Carer Respite to spend time with that person who relies on you so much providing you the opportunity to spend time on your own needs by ensuring that the respite provided is meaningful, stimulating and enjoyable.

We understand that being apart from the person you care for can lead to anxiety on their part and often guilt on yours.

Residential Accommodation

Longer stay recovery focused program with accommodation is provided to people referred to with long term mental health institution experience.  People who enter this program work collaboratively with staff on their “person-centred recovery plan” with the expectation that each person will progress towards personal recovery.  Staff and clients work together on areas of need and aspiration, as defined by each individual in the program.

Medium term recovery focused programs People who enter this program work on a “person-centred recovery plan” and individuals are encouraged to work on their plan with assistance from staff.

Transitional recovery focused programs for People who enter this program are expected to work on their “person-centred recovery plan” with assistance from staff.  And each client develops an exit plan for between 6 months to a year.

Respite/crisis support program is to provide a safe and stable home-like environment to individuals who are either in situational or social crises, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, who require respite from the need to maintain tenure in the community, or to allow their carers to take a break from their caring role.  Staff work collaboratively with all stakeholders in order to provide a holistic service to the individual.

Personal Helpers and Mentors

Personal Helpers and Mentors Program, otherwise referred to as PHaMs within the organization.  PHaMs staff assist people, aged 16yrs +, whose ability to manage their daily activities and to live independently in the community is severely impacted as a result of a severe mental illness.  A person does not need to have a formalized clinical diagnosis of a severe mental illness to initially access the program.  Staff supported program participants in their recovery journey, building long-term relationships and providing holistic support.  They ensure that services accessed by program participants are coordinated, integrated and complementary to the services in the community.

Residential Outreach Services

Residential Outreach Services, otherwise referred to as ROS within the organization.  The ROS program provides support for people already living in the community who identify a need to maintain their mental health.  They are provided with support to actively engage in their recovery journey and to live interdependently within the community.
