RICHMOND WELLBEING FOCUSES ON MENTAL WELLBEING IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

As part of Mental Health Week 2016, leading not-for-profit Richmond Wellbeing took a leaf from the changing seasons and bringing mental wellness outdoors with its 'Celebrate Spring in the Sunshine' event at Kent Street Weir. Among its other community-focused events, this local mental health organisation dedicated time to practise its own healthy workplace principles and focus on the wellbeing of employees and volunteers.

Mental Health Services Embrace LGBTI Inclusive Practice

A new course which supports organisations to embrace LGBTI inclusive practice concluded with its fifth and final workshop. This series of workshops have led participants through practical steps to create sustainable cultural change in their organisations. The course, ‘Right To Belong: Creating and LGBTI Inclusive Service’, was delivered by GRAI (GLBTI Rights in Ageing Inc) and auspiced by Richmond Wellbeing.

BUILDING STRONG ABORIGINAL FAMILIES WITH MENTAL HEALTH WEEK FUN DAY

Strong Family, Strong Children is the theme of this year's annual Aboriginal community Family Fun Day, on Wednesday, 5th October 2016 at the Champion Centre, Seville Grove. For the third year running Richmond Wellbeing and the City of Armadale team up for a day of interesting health and wellness information and engaging activities for the local community.

Minister to Visit Southern Hemisphere’s First ‘Recovery House’

On 27 July, Minister for Mental Health, the Hon. Andrea Mitchell MLA will visit local mental health service Richmond Wellbeing's Recovery House, which provides an innovative, highly intensive and trauma informed service to support people experiencing serious mental health challenges to develop skills and take charge of their recovery.
