ASPAC Conference 2012

June 11 - 13 2012

Mental Health is at the cross-roads.

Changes are in the wind that will transcend philosophy, policy, practice and delivery. Decision makers at this conference will not merely consider but will most likely impact directly upon foundation issues regarding consumer and carer recognition, quality assurance, sustainable service delivery, value and worth.

It is timely and appropriate that fundamental questions are posed by those who fund services, those who provide services and most importantly, consumers and their carers themselves. Undoubtedly this will spur robust debate around a whole raft of issues but one issue must be universally accepted: It is time for new relationships to evolve and within that new beginning, we confirm and hold true the belief that consumers, with their support systems, are at the centre of any future developments in Mental Health.

The time to consider our connectedness, our relationship and our future is now and we at RFWA are delighted to bring so many crucial people together to engage in this process.

Richmond Fellowship Medication Statement – Friday, 25 November 2011

Richmond Fellowship has released a new statement about its position on the use of medication.  CEO Joe Calleja said, ”The statement removes any room for misunderstanding or interpreting our stance on the use of medication and provides a clear position about the use of medication in our recovery based environments”.  RFWA’s Medication Position Statement is available for download here.

One in every five Australians suffer from mental distress. As a result, it's likely that in some way, either personally or through someone you know, you have been touched by this experience. The good news is that people can and do recover from mental illness.

Through the work of Richmond Fellowship of Western Australia (RFWA), people with a mental illness have access to a range of support services that get them back on their feet on their way to leading healthy, active and rewarding lives.

RFWA is a non-government organisation that is recognised as a leader in rehabilitation support and accommodation programs for people with a diagnosable mental illness. Please browse our website to learn more about RFWA and if we can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on our Contact Us page.
